#LOFTY: Beauty People Absolute Lofty Girl BB Cushion Review

Hey friends! I’ve been MIA for a long time — apologies again. Let’s get back in the swing of things with a good, old-fashioned makeup review!

Today, I’ll be talking about a BB cushion with amazing packaging but a mediocre formula: Beauty People’s Absolute Lofty Girl BB Cushion.

BASE ESSENTIALS: My Current Foundation Holy Grails

The foundation of a piece of art is the canvas. The most important part of makeup application lies in the base products. Today, I’ll be sharing two foundations I’ve picked up in the summer and that I’ve been using everyday. I have combination skin, so I’m very impressed that both of these products are both moisturizing and mattifying for the skin.

MISSHA Magic Moisture BB Cream Review (N21)

I’m so excited to post a review about my new obsession! I bought this BB cream at a MISSHA store in Beijing, where they were doing a half-off discount. I got this for only 88RMB, or ~$13.

My Humble Opinion:

I really adore this BB cushion! The wonderful thing about it is that it balances my oiliness and dryness in a perfect way. I rarely get oily on my T Zone anymore, which was always a problem for past BB creams. The coverage is excellent, and brightens my face without making me look like a pale ghost. In addition, it is super light on the skin, so when I wear this in 104 degree Beijing weather, I don’t stress about my base makeup melting off.

Here is a swatch of it on the left side of my hand. It is smooth and dewy on the skin but not overly watery or oily. The smell is like linen or ocean water – very refreshing for a summer’s day!

This summer, I discovered a Missha store in the mall next to my apartment complex, and was so excited! After my purchase, they provided a sample size of the famous Missha BB Boomer base. It is supposed to brighten and enhance BB cream, while making the BB cream last all day on the skin.

My Humble Opinion:

This is truly a wonderful base product! The product itself – although the picture does no justice to it – has a pearlescent look, with subtle reflective shimmers that brighten the face without making it look unhealthily pale. There are pink pigments to warm up the face and give it a natural, rose glow. I thought that this base would make me look like a disco ball, but it just highlights the right parts of my face, without exaggerating unwanted lines, acne bumps, etc. 5/5 stars!
